The name of the wine (with vintage): Sabar Roller Rosé 2024

Description:

Fierce blood orange, flamboyant cavalcade of coral colours, punch with strawberry. Its siller-like colour suggests immediately that after a few sips we will have reached our "flight level", therefore we suggest this wine to those who are not afraid of this overwhelming and sensual charm. The Sabar berries matured themselves to love again this year, see the world in pink with them! 

Type of wine: Dry, rosé

Grape varieties: 100% Kékfrankos (Blaufrankisch)

Alcohol: 13%, Acidity: 5.5 g/L, Residual sugar: 2 g/L, Extract: 21 g/L

Terroir, vineyard: The Kékfrankos (Blaufrankisch) grape for this wine was harvested on Sabar hill, from the own vineyard of Sabar, near the cellar.  "A small hill with great wines" – as the slogan of Sabar Wine House refers to its terroir.

Harvest: In 2024 the harvest started extremely early, on 23 August, about three weeks earlier than usual. Plus, almost all the grapes ripened at the same time, thus this harvest was more than challenging. Strangely enough, the fermentation was slower.

Technology: The wine fermented and matured in stainless steel, and bottling took place in the second half of January. They never soak the grape on the skin for the rosé, it only has skin contact for one hour, while the harvested grapes are taken to the cellar from the vineyard. However, this year the berries grew quite a thick skin, therefore despite of the short skin contact the colour is deeper, almost siller-like.

Story: The label is the artwork of some enthusiast kids of Zöldfenyő kindergarten, thanks to them!
And 'Roller'–in case you don't have a clue–comes from Rosé + Siller.

Don't you know what siller is? Well, it is a traditional wine style in many regions of Hungary, it is a wine between rosé and red wine both in colour and characteristics.
